Where the heck did 2009 go? I could have sworn I was JUST looking forward to my last semester of grad school; looking forward to starting my first professional job as a librarian; to making my life better.
Where the hell did my year go???

I am pretty superstitious, I know I don't really get it either, but I firmly believe whoever you start the new year with is who you finish it with. That means whoever you are spending New Years Eve with. Last year I spent it single, and the many, many years before it.
Part of me is ok with being single, really I SWEAR! Then the other part of me says, what about sex?
Now I bring up the sex issue only because of a recent date. I am a very open person. I am comfortable in my sexuality, and I know I like sex. Do you see anything wrong with that? Yeah I don't either.
However when a man who is not comfortable in his sexuality comes across a women who is, and freely talks about sex, that means she will automatically sleep with him. GRRR!!! Ok that may have to be another blog post. I am determined to go to bed before midnight.

Random Questions at Target #1
Me: Would you like a big bag for all the wrapping paper?
Guest: Do you have a big bag?
-Seriously people! Why would I ask if I didn't have a bag? You really think I would offer and just say SIKE! Just Kidding!!!!???
Guest: Can you double wrap that in the big red bags you have?
Me: We are all out of the big red bags.
Guest: The whole store?
Me: *Thinking, no of course not! For you let me pull them out of my butt!* We have been selling out faster than we can order them.
Guest: Do you have any envelopes for the gift cards? I don't see any on the lanes.
Me: We are all sold out. Happens every year. Because everyone wants to or three for every gift card they buy.

I have been a bad blogger
I have been a bad blogger, and I am truly sorry. But really, honestly I have not had ANYTHING to write about lately.
However I am deeply disappointed in this. Stupid NY State Senate.
When will they learn that "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." That is the Constitution. Our fore fathers did agree to that.
Maybe I am being to political, and I know that a good portion of my friends that will read this are conservative, but so what? I am not and this is FREE country. At least the last time I checked.

“Certainly this is an emotional issue and an important issue for many New Yorkers,” said Senator Tom Libous, the deputy Republican leader. “I just don’t think the majority care too much about it at this time because they’re out of work, they want to see the state reduce spending, and they are having a hard time making ends meet. And I don’t mean to sound callous, but that’s true.”

What is your weakness?
Mr. Condescending challenged the other day for us to write a post about what our weakness is. I have several in a man.
-Scent is huge, if you do not smell good, you will get nowhere with me.
-You have to be taller than me. You do not have to be the jolly green giant, but I do like my men tall.
-You have to have nice arms and a nice butt. The arms I don't HAVE to have, but its nice. As for the but, you have to have something for me to look at. :)
-You have to have a great smile. Now I am not talking about perfectly white teeth or everything straight, but I don't want to cringe every time you smile at me.
Those are just the physical features. If I actually make conversation with you, then damn don't make me kiss you just to shut you up. I hope to goodness you have a brain inside that head.

I keep hoping I will forget
Yesterday it was eight years. Eight years since my first date with my fiancée. When will I forget this anniversary? We broke up three and a half years ago. I keep hoping and praying that one day on November 15th I wont actually feel the need to get drunk, or want to drink at all.
I really do not know why I even sometimes feel like a drink. It is not as though Peter and I had the best of relationships. But when it was good, it was really good. When it was bad, I really do not even like to think of when it was bad. But at the end of the day, I really loved him, and he really loved me.
Peter was a man who did not really stick up for himself to me, he let me walk all over him, but he was a man who stuck by my side when my parents split up. He stuck by my side when I moved from place to place. He stuck by my side when I quit my job. He stuck by my side when I changed majors.
But as in all relationships, especially the ones that happen when you are between the ages of 18-22, I changed. He changed. We grew up. I realized I wanted to see more of the world. I wanted to get out of LA. I wanted to become a librarian. He wanted to stay here, near his parents. So for this reason and a couple others, we broke up.
Ending a relationship of 4 1/2 years is tough. Harder when you have credit cards, car payments, cell phones and checking accounts all intertwined with one another. (Hey, we were going to get married, it seemed natural to have all that stuff together.) As it turns out, canceling a wedding is MUCH harder than actually planning a wedding.
In the end, we both loved each other very much, but not in the way we needed to in order to get married. Peter was however ready for marriage. He proved that when less than 1 1/2 years later he married another girl. Some days I am happy for him, others not. I think, how can he have a successful relationship when I cant even manage to date someone for more than 8 weeks. Is it me? Well I guess I am high maintenance. But then I guess I just need someone who likes to maintain me. HA HA.
At the end of the day, my life is not where I thought it was going to be at 26. But its not terrible either. I have friends who love and respect me, I have a job (which in this economy is GREAT, I have extra money in my account at the end of the month and the bills are paid, and I have a great mom who would do anything for me. Life isn't so bad at 26.
Now if only I could get the relationship part to work..... LOL

I do not agree with the war in Iraq, however I support everyone that is over there fighting for our country.
